Protecting your skin against the harsh effects of summer sun
HTP Pharma · 15/06/2023

In summer, the weather seems to turn harsher, with days reaching 37°C that not only affect your health but also pose a serious threat to your skin. So remember to build up your skin’s “resistance” both inside and out to stand up to the summer heat!

1. Nourish your skin from within
1.1 Drink plenty of water
In summer, the body easily becomes dehydrated even when you work in a cool environment such as an office. Failing to regularly drink 1.5l – 2l of water a day will leave your skin rough and stripped of its natural elasticity. So keep reminding yourself to drink enough water to keep your skin richly hydrated from deep within.
To avoid monotony, you can add fruit juices and vegetable juices to your daily routine.
1.2 Diligently top up on Vitamins
With the diverse supply of Vitamins from vegetables and fruits, they are ideal for building up your skin’s “resistance.” Carrots, cucumbers, potatoes, oranges and watermelon have been shown in practice to be good not only for the body but also to deliver multiple benefits for bright, healthy skin and to slow down the aging process,
In addition, you can consider supplementing Vitamins through tablets and dietary supplements. This is also one of the summer skincare “tips” widely shared among women.

2. Protect your skin from the outside
2.1 Equip yourself with a sun- and UV-protective face mask
To protect your skin from harmful environmental agents such as dust, smoke and UV rays, wearing a face mask whenever you go out is absolutely essential. You should choose products made from premium synthetic fibers. Their outstanding advantage is optimal protection and UV-reflecting properties. On top of that, prioritize sun-protective masks from reputable brands.
2.2 Wear a wide-brimmed hat
Besides sunscreen and a sun-protective face mask, equip yourself with a wide-brimmed hat on sweltering summer days. This will be the perfect trio to keep your skin completely safe under the sun. Our advice is to prepare wide-brimmed hats or bucket hats that block direct sunlight from hitting your skin.
2.3 Don’t skip sunglasses
Sunglasses help protect your eyes from harmful UV rays. You can choose black sunglasses, as they create a cooling feeling under harsh sunlight while also protecting your eyes from environmental dust and dirt.
3. Don’t forget daily skincare
3.1 Deeply cleanse your skin
Under the summer heat, your skin is surely exhausted from facing “enemies” such as UV rays, dust and excess oil. Without careful care and cleansing, you will be the one to suffer problems like breakouts, dryness and dullness,
To avoid all that, you simply need to diligently carry out the full basic daily cleansing steps to sweep away stubborn layers of dirt. From there, your skin becomes healthy enough to fend off dangerous “enemies.”

3.2 Use sunscreen
Sunscreen is likened to a “knight in shining armor” protecting your “lady skin,” acting as a shield that blocks the assault of ultraviolet rays. For absolute protection against the risk of sunburn, choose a product with an SPF of 30+ or higher.
In addition, you also need to pay attention to choosing a sun-protection product suited to your skin. In particular, if you take part in outdoor activities, reapply sunscreen every 2 to 3 hours.
3.3 Moisturize and mist regularly
In summer, the weather is likened to a furnace with fierce, skin-searing sunlight, so don’t forget the moisturizing and misting step. Depending on each skin type, the moisturizing process serves different purposes: balancing the oil–water levels on the skin, locking in and nourishing moisture,
Whether you have oily, dry, combination or sensitive skin, you all need a suitable moisturizing product, especially with skin that is so “hard to please” during summer like now.
Summer sunlight is always a shared worry for women; to own bright, healthy and youthful skin, apply the skincare tips above right away!
